Mount Vesuvius

As I mentioned in previous posts, we've really tried to get the kids involved in the planning of our upcoming European trip.  Our 6 year old son Michael is really into volcanoes, and is very excited that we are planning to go to the top of Mount Vesuvius and walk along the crater rim.  This morning after looking at a few pictures of the volcano on-line he drew this picture of Mount Vesuvius from across the Bay of Naples.

It's hard to believe that after months of reading guide books, watching shows, and researching on the internet that we'll be in Italy in less than 2 weeks.

  2. That is a great picture! Our son was fascinated with volcanoes, too, at that age. He even wanted to be a volcanologist for a while. It always surprised people when that was his response at age six to, "What do you want to be when you grow up?"

Have a wonderful vacation! I know you will all remember it for the rest of your lives.
